Life, it seems, has fictional co-incidences," says Mahesh Bhatt, the creative consultant for the film based on Chandra Shekhar Prasad, the slain JNU leader. While researching for the film, Bhatt discovered that Chandu had reviewed his film Junoon. http:// www.wubags.com/handbags-i/ Bhat t said, "Never would I have thought that a boy like him who had the mettle to be a leader would have an eye for Indian cinema. Normally, people who are attached to activism are dismissive of entertainment. But I was surprised to see the affection he had for cinema. He was just like any other Indian - fond of cricket and cinema. I discovered that he never had a colonised mind." He added, "He reviewed Junoon, which is such an unusual film, a Cheap Jordan Shoes movie that came out of my love for the werewolf concept." And does he agree with his film appreciation? "He criticised the film in the right places. Chandu made a very uncanny observation about Pooja. He commented that she did not have the heart for such roles. She should be cast in movies like Daddy and should do serious roles. I was struck by his affection for Rahul Roy he has even said in the review, 'Between Rahul and Sanjay, who would score?'" This confirms that he was a follower of Bhatt's cinema, as Sanjay too had starred in Mahesh Bhatt's Sadak. There are still plenty of Greatest Generation members around who, when the talk turns to the service standards of the United States Postal Service, reminisce about the days when our mail was delivered twice daily. That luxury ended in 1950. Now, in the e-mail era -- and the Facebook, Twitter and other social networking sites era, with the additional competition of delivery giants UPS and FedEx -- there is talk of abandoning Saturday delivery, 60 years on. That would result in cost savings of between $2 billion and $3 billion a year, depending on which federal study you believe. For a government business that currently loses $7 billion annually, either one is a significant step toward break-even. But the post office is only able to stave off even larger losses through continual rate increases - a new one was just proposed last week to take the cost of first-class postage from 44 cents to 46 cents. That first-class business has seen a 15percent decrease in volume from 2006 to 2009, leading to the perceived need for a rate hike. Some of the only good financial news for the USPS has come in an increase in package volume of about 3 percent a year, mostly due to Internet commerce. For a business as big as the post office still is, there are many complex economic factors at work in a move to cut 15 percent of its service days -- Cheap Jordan Shoes not the least of which would be the impact to its employees. There is no question that because of the ubiquity of e-mail, the loss of the letter-writing habit, the increase of reading periodicals online and the ability to pay bills on our computers, our relationship with the mail has changed dramatically. But many still treasure the tradition of the arrival of the daily mail. And it's still remarkable how quickly something physically posted today can be whisked around the world. Rather than eliminating Saturday mail, we would encourage the U.S. Postal Service to get more creative about the ways it delivers information. It doesn't have to be only in the snail-mail business. Get creative - very creative, in an entrepreneurial way. Hire some young high-techers to think big. CENTERVILLE -- An Air Force Reserve Office Training Corps cadet from Centerville lost his right leg from the knee down after he was injured in a parachute jump last month at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo. Matthew Pirrello, a 2009 graduate of Alter High School, is in fair condition at Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs r eplica watches C after being injured June 25 during a parachute jump while he was attending a summer airmanship course. "It's a life-changing event," said Frank Pirrello, the cadet's father, on Monday, July 12. "It's pretty tough," he said. Matthew, a 20-year-old Ohio University sophomore, also suffered a double-compound fracture in his left leg, according to the academy. He was airlifted to Penrose Hospital in critical condition and has improved to fair condition, said Chris Valentine, a hospital spokesman. "He is doing really well considering the circumstances that he is in," Frank Pirrello said. Matthew was scheduled for another procedure Monday to further stabilize his condition, according to his father. "His amputated leg has not been able to be closed up due to infection," Frank Pirrello said. Matthew was one of seven cadets participating in the Airmanship 490 program, said Meade Warthen, an academy spokesman. The five-jump airmanship program is for college-age ROTC cadets and is separate from one for Air Force Academy cadets, Warthen said. About 145 ROTC cadets are enrolled in the program over the summer, he said. Matthew Pirrello was excited to participate in the program, Frank Pirrello said. "He said he wants to jump again," he said. Matthew remains focused on serving as an Air Force officer, which will be a "significant challenge," according to his father. "He has to perform well enough to be able to remain in the service," Frank Pirrello said. Matthew Pirrello is "a young man of tremendous character," said Jeff Plate, Alter's director of institutional advancement. Pirrello played cornerback for Alter's 2008 Division IV state champion football team. He also played baseball and was captain of the swimming team his senior year, Plate said. "If anybody is going to overcome an injury it's going to be Matt Pirrello," said Plate, who praised his spirit and enthusiasm for life. "This will not set him back, aside from what he is going to have to go through for just getting a new routine for himself," Plate said. Academy jump operations were temporarily suspended after the accident, Warthen said. The cause of the accident remains under investigation. Parachuting at the academy has resumed. There were no previous injuries or fatalities involving the ROTC cadet airman-ship program, Warthen said. "We've had a total of two fatalities since jumping began (in 1964) at the Air Force Academy," Warthen said. "One was in 1966 in which a (academy) cadet was killed and one was in 1984 in which an active duty captain was killed," he said.
